Caucasian carpets are mainly produced as village production rather than city pieces. Made from special materials for each tribal province, the carpet of Caucasus usually features thick geometric designs in primary colors. Typical styles for the Caucasus region are the Daghestan, Shirvan, Gendje, Kazakh and Quba rugs. Some styles of carpet from contemporary northwestern Iran also mostly fall into this bracket, such as the Ardabil carpet.
