Superior Rug Cleaning is a carpet cleaning company based in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The company was founded in 1946, but has since absorbed the company John Leavitt Rug Cleaning (founded in 1947 in Bloomfield, Connecticut), and owns and operates Adams and Swett/Albany Carpet Cleaning. The Company (including Adams and Swett subsidiaries) specializes in cleaning and restoring oriental carpets.
Adams and Swett was founded in Boston in 1856 by Freedom Samuel Adams and William Swett, who serve a new bourgeois fashion haute for oriental carpets that enter the ports of China and elsewhere, often on board clipper. Adams and Swett have been operating continuously ever since and through their Superior Rug Cleaning trace its company history back to 1856.
Adams and Swett were famous in the mid-twentieth century for long-running radio advertising ("How many cakes Andrew ate? ANdrew 8-8000") voiced by Judy Valentine.
