History
William B. Reily moved from Monroe, LA to New Orleans in 1902. He left his wholesale business behind to focus on grilling, grinding and packing coffee. Seventeen years later, after establishing Luzianne brand coffee and tea in the New Orleans market, Mr. Reily took advantage of her experience in the grocery business to create a Standard Coffee.
From 1919 to 1940s, Standard Coffee Service Company grew to cover more than 900 routes in its service area. With the advent of supermarkets and transport improvements, the utility of food delivered home is reduced. In the 1960s, the company lowered shipments of grocery items, focusing on shipments to offices.
In 1967, the Standard Coffee Service Company changed its name to Standard Office Coffee Service Company and continued to introduce products and services such as hot brewing system (1987), water filtration process, Standguard Water Quality Assurance (1991) and Individual Manufacture Technology (IBT) for one cup of coffee and tea (2004).
The Standard Companies, Inc., d/b/Standard Coffee Service Company is one of the largest service companies in the country, providing beverages, equipment, condiments, water filtration systems and related items for businesses across North America.
