If You Had Wings is an attraction at Walt Disney World. This is a two-person Omnimover dark ride on Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, sponsored by Eastern Air Lines. This trip features destinations throughout the Caribbean and elsewhere, all of which, according to the travel sponsors, are served by the East. The trip has an eponymous theme song by Buddy Baker.

History
If You Had Wings is located across from the original is Flight to The Moon but later became Mission to Mars . The trip was sponsored by Eastern Air Lines at the time. Initial investment on the Road is reportedly $ 10 million. Unknown or heavily promoted, the waiting line for IYHW does not exist or is short even when the park is overcrowded. Nevertheless, the journey was imbued with the gentle charm and characteristic flavors of the Disney and Walt Disney World production more specifically. It is well air-conditioned and also free, when entrance tickets are required rides in the park.
If You Had Wings is a four and a half minute dark journey based on the Omnimover Disney system. The trip moved with ease throughout the journey. It's structurally similar to the attractions of Disneyland Adventure Thru Inner Space , which may be considered its predecessor; both designed by Claude Coats. The theme music was written by Buddy Baker with lyrics by X Atencio.

The journey begins with the animated silhouette projections of seagulls and airplanes passing through the walls, enhancing feelings of movement and gently suggesting flight. Riders pass through a series of colorful theater-like theaters with small screens taped to the back of the projected short-film screen, while their car revolves around their base to steer the rider toward points of interest. Overall, thirty eight 16mm projectors are used in the attraction. The scene features a variety of Eastern destinations and attracts potential tourists with straw hat markets, fishermen, limbo dancers, steel band drums, and more. Many scenes have their own special sound effects. Music themes everywhere featuring a melodious melodious singer choir,
If you have wings, if you have wings,
If you have wings, have wings, have wings, have wings.
Music does not work to hide clicks from hidden projectors, which are obviously heard in most trips.
The following locations are represented: Mexico, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Bahamas (where big-traffic cops blow the whistle to direct a group of flamingos in one direction, pedestrians and vehicles in another), Jamaica (where only 35mm projector trips show a group young boys wearing rock-climbing bathing suits at Dunn's River Falls), Trinidad, and New Orleans (where the shadows blow jazzmen flickering on the walls), all of which Eastern Air Lines is offered as a destination in time.
After viewing the set sequence of this site, the rider enters the "space velocity", an ellipsoid to the inside that projected first-person film footage of a plane taking off, rail, water ski, motorcycle, aircraft, and several other scenes. The clip is projected on the wall by a 70mm projector. The ovoid screen includes the vision of the viewer's peripherals. Next, the vehicle leans in the speed chamber, and the breeze blows on the rider. The cover image, in combination with the movement and angle of the vehicle and the air bursts, is arguably an early attempt at virtual reality. The photographs were to some extent blurred and distorted, unlike Disney's sharper Vision-Vision 360 technology; it somewhat resembles a 180 fuzzy show cinema featured in many contemporary amusement parks.
The velocity space is followed by a "mirrored room", where two 70mm projectors produce snow-capped mountain images that appear on the big screen and are reflected in a large mirror to the ceiling, and the music becomes a symphonic tune without words of harmony.
Riders "descend" after coming out of the mirror room, and Orson Welles's voice assures the rider,
You do have wings.
You can do all these things.
You can expand your world.
East: human wings.
At the start of the journey, "The Wings of Man" is the Eastern Air Lines slogan. In the following years, this section (spoken by someone other than Welles, perhaps vocalist of Disney vocalist Peter Renaday) ends with a different slogan, "East: we will be your wings."
Drive down to an area containing Eastern Air Lines booking desk. The agent is ready to assist the rider with travel arrangements.
In 1987, Eastern withdrew his sponsor and his interest closed on June 1 of that year. East itself will be out of business only four years later.
Interaction with WEDway PeopleMover
Large diorama windows, two on the right and one on the left, allow the Mexican, Jamaican, and Trinidad scenes to be seen by riders at the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (then WEDWay PeopleMover). The window on the left is deleted when If You Had Wings is replaced with Delta Dreamflight.
Successor
After the closure of the original attraction, a new attraction was created to occupy the same space.
If You Can Fly
After closing IYHW , Disney deleted all references to the East, changed the name of the trip to If You Can Fly , and reopened it on June 6, 1987 Set and the movie intact, but the theme music has replaced. For many travel fans, the absence of genuine contagious music has brought many pleasures of attraction, and the opening scene that originally had a movie about the East has been replaced with footage of flying birds. On January 4, 1989, If You Can Fly has been permanently closed.
Delta Dreamflight
Soon after, Delta Air Lines took over the sponsorship and made plans to renew and revolutionize the attraction. The successor is Delta Dreamflight , which utilizes the same riding and floor layout system, but all new sights and music.
Disney Aircraft Flight
Delta dropped sponsorship in June 1996. WDW removed all references to Delta and renamed the Take Flight Disney attractions. The journey lasted two years, closed in January 1998.
Unlike the wholesale music changes from If You Had Wings to If You Could Fly , Take Flight ' is the same as Dreamflight ' except for minor changes to the lyrics.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Disney decided to use the lift room to promote his popular movie, Pixar's Toy Story . The new attraction, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, is again using the original travel system and floor plan, but now the rider can control their vehicle's rotation through the joystick, and is armed with a "laser cannon" to shoot the target placed throughout the attractions.
Influence
Epcot's World of Motion and Horizons dark rides show Omnimovers in settings similar to the space velocity mentioned above.
The El Rio del Tiempo boarded a boat in the Mexican pavilion at the World Showcase, which has since been modified to Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros , including a movie projected onto a small embedded screen in a complicated set. This, combined with continuous music, miniature movies, and animatronic dancing, draws significantly from If You Had Wings
The theme song "If You Had Wings" can be heard on Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World; it is given a more retro metronome, and has no lyrics.
The journey was parodied in the episode of "Edna" The Simpsons in which the terrible robotic Eastern plane is depicted to enslave mankind.
