The Hamish & amp; Andy Show ( Hamish and Andy ) is an Australian radio show created by and starring comedy duo Hamish Blake and Andy Lee. It started on Fox FM in 2006 and in 2007, aired on Hit Network to every state in Australia as well as ACT for two hours in daytime slot drives during daylight hours until the end of 2010. Since then, various timeslots and formats. It was also broadcast in New Zealand and Dubai as a weekly highlight package. At the end of 2009, the 3-hour special titled 'Midwinter Warmer' Hamish and Andy were aired in Great Britain at BBC6 Music.
This event is the highest-rated radio series in Australian history, consistently achieving up to 20% market share in the important Melbourne market. The show has about 2.7 million listeners, and has over 1 million weekly podcast downloads.
Blake and Lee announced in August 2010, they will reduce the weekly show in 2011, to give them time to pursue other projects. The last daily program aired on December 3, 2010 in Melbourne as part of Thank You Tour.
The show is broadcast weekly on Fridays during 2011 and 2012. In 2013, the event is moved to Monday, with Hamish & Andy's Brunch business airs Tuesday through Friday morning. From July 2013 to December 2014, Blake and Lee host Hamish & amp; Andy Happy Hour every afternoon from 3 pm to 4 pm.
By 2015, the event returns to the travel time slot between 4pm and 7pm every weekday.
In December 2016, Hamish and Andy announced that they would leave the radio by the end of 2017. In September 2017, Southern Cross Austereo announced that Hughesy & Kate will replace Hamish and Andy. The duo also later revealed that the podcast will continue in 2018, but no further details have been revealed.

The event is hosted by special guests who fill one of Hamish and Andy on several occasions. Stephen Curry and Ryan Shelton fill in for Blake when he is sick of pneumonia, and on March 16, 2010 Lee's former girlfriend now Megan Gale filled in for him when he underwent surgery to replace his missing two front teeth during an attempt to play ice hockey during "training" for bi- bi-tri-bi-athlon (24 sports in one weekend).

Important activity
People Chips
In 2008 Hamish and Andy were challenged by members of the audience to find fresh support from fresh potatoes. They finally found the sauce flavor. Chip was launched on June 27, 2008 in an event with hundreds of viewers including the performances of Melissa Tkautz. Other notable figures at the launch were Brian McFadden and the chip company's advertising character Smith "Gobbledok".

In September 2006, Hamish and Andy bought a greyhound and named it Fred Basset, after a comic character of the same name. It was purchased using the result of a $ 800 bet on Blake, originally set aside for a holiday with his girlfriend, in Lee was awarded a Bachelor of the Year Cleo. 50% of Basset's wins go to the Greyhound Adoption Program.
Afghanistan
In April 2008, the duo traveled to Afghanistan and performed live performances (except for Friday's show) with Australian troops.
The first trip to Afghanistan began when they received an email from an Australian soldier serving overseas, eager to hear The Hamish & Andy Show at its headquarters. The letter opened a discussion about whether the show should go abroad and be broadcast with troops.
Hamish and Andy, after contacting the Australian Defense Force several times, were told they would be able to broadcast at locations overseas where the troops were serving.

In 2009, to commemorate the show that began broadcasting to Tasmania, Hamish and Andy sailed on a 200-year-old tall ship known as "Taully Shore" across the Bass Channel from Australia to Tasmania. During this period they broadcast, despite storm conditions.
Annual Logies Spit Roast Party
In the years from 2007, Hamish and Andy hosted a pulp party on Friday afternoon before the annual TV Logie Week Award. A tradition for contention between Hamish and Andy and Jules Lund's TV personality. This tradition in 2013 peaked with Hamish and Andy launched a "preemptive attack". The event is frequented by many celebrities, such as Carrie Bickmore, Steve Peacock, Wil Anderson, Sonia Kruger, Rove McManus, Erin Molan, Delta Goodrem, and Scott Cam, and performed performances by Birds of Tokyo, Flo Rida, The Temper Trap, and The Script. The 2016 show is crucial for performance by Hamish and Andy's band "Cool Boys and the Frontman", with Conrad Sewell operating as their vocalist.
The Peoples' Bull
In 2010 Hamish and Andy enter the Stock & amp; The land competition to win Mouses Pathfinder Angus Bull is worth $ 6000 so they can become "bull-ionaires". They asked the listener to collect 4 weekly coupons to enter, but they did not win, but got in touch with the winners and managed to ask them to call it Sandra Bullock.
Ghosting
Ghosting is a "sport" that is made by involving walking as close as possible behind a person as long as possible without them knowing you are there. It was first featured on Rove but was later shown on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in the US and in the UK, Graham Norton Show. In America, Ghosting City Twin Towns in Minnesota practice sports.
Tour Thanks
In 2010 to thank their listeners for participating in a daily radio show for the past 5 years, Hamish and Andy travel around Australia broadcasting live shows daily from November 29 to December 3 in 5 major cities, Perth (Paterson's Oval), Adelaide (Coopers Stadium), Brisbane (Botanical Gardens), Sydney (Fox Studio) and Melbourne (Myer Music Bowl). In their first show, they performed with bands Perth Birds of Tokyo, Eskimo Joe and Shaun Micallef and Stephen Curry also present. 3700 fans out to watch at 37 à ° C hot.
Other Important Activities
- BYO Pool Party - Celebrate the show later this year with live performances by Powderfinger and John Butler Trio at Hickson Road Resort. Event listeners bring a swimming pool filled at the venue.
- Conjoined twins - In 2007 after accidentally offending radio listeners when talking about the conjoined twins, Hamish and Andy were sewn into clothing together for a week. They are separated in Rove on Sunday.
- Unblock - Hamish & amp; Andy decided to just eat a free meal for a week in July 2009 for Rove.
- Bi-Bi-Tri-Bi-athlon - Hamish and Andy compete in 24 sports in one weekend.
Regular segment
This is an ordinary segment to the event when it's in its original 2 hour format, but some segments return to the hour-long "Happy Hour"/"Business Brunch" format if the segment and its content match the topic of the day.
Fred Basset
At the end of the show on every Friday, Blake, many underestimated Lee, read Fred Basset's comic in the air.
Trivial Claims Court
An incoming call listener with a trivial question with the event attempts to answer it. One example is 'how high is the cut-off for midgets?'
Steven Seagal Energy Drink
In 2011 Blake attempted to find celebrity Steven Seagal after in May 2009 he ordered two sheets of his 'Lightning Bolt' energy drink, which had been paid but never arrived. They attempted to find it through the identification of a bikini-clad girl in an advertisement for a drink, which they identified as a woman named Cherie Ditcham, and eventually received 10 drinks. After Blake tasted one, Blake and Lee wanted to distribute it to the listeners, but because their boss Dave Cameron disclosed the legal issue because the drink became out of date, the drink was poured into the ocean.
Experimental as Anything
This is the segment where Hamish and Andy do a strange experiment. An important example is to see if Lee can sneeze with eyes open. In this incident Blake blew a full straw of black pepper into Lee's nose, which caused Lee to experience tremendous pain. The pain is trying to be treated with water and salt solution.
Family Meeting
When Hamish and Andy want to present the idea to the listeners, they announce "family gathering". Previous family meetings have included discussions on "The Caravan of Courage, Yes We Van" and "Caravan of Courage: Australia Vs New Zealand".
HB: BC
Abbreviation of Great Call Hamish Blake.
HB: BC includes:
Random John
Random John is a segment involving Hamish & amp; Andy calls the phone number at random, and hopes for John. If they get John, they'll get one John Point; in the case of a recipient named John Johnson, will be worth fifty Points of John, and if the call is picked up by John Johnny Johnson, they will get one hundred and twenty John Points. If, on the other hand, the recipient of a call named Rob, they will lose John Point, as an email from podcaster stating that they will never get John to lead them to believe that Robs is a Johns theme. After that it emerged that the Manchester Key 103 radio station had taken the segment and separately played for John Points, Hamish & Andy announced the start of Random John World Cup; because of this, a number of additional radio shows also started playing Random John. Hamish & amp; Andy finally scored their first John Point on May 27, 2011. This caused some excitement in the studio. As Hamish said: "... somebody's my hand is poison friendly because I want to die; I've lived it all..." After becoming a leader in the world cup Random John on John Streak from one, the duo decided to stop playing games indefinitely, because the risk of calling Rob and losing their John Point is too high. Segments can be restarted if other John John World Cup participants get John points.
Horgs Discovery
Sometimes, Andy's friend Horgs was asked to talk about his latest ideas for discovery. Horgs also interviewed Tom Cruise with Andy while Hamish was at a wedding. Horgs is a close friend of former colleagues and high school friends. His daily job is to sell children's books. His wife's name is Katie and he is famous on the show to start his segment with a whistle, the sound of people's jokes is a 'signal for investors to pull out their checkbook' to invest in his idea. The listener is then invited to call the event if they have questions, suggestions, or comments for Horgs about the idea. Very often, listeners may suggest improvements to ideas, or even suggest that similar inventions are already sold on the market.
Some of Horgs' inventions include:
- 'Weatherbet', which is a website where people can bet on the weather for the next day, the idea that the following week described by Horgs was stolen by listeners who later registered domain names, which also started Horgs's slogan about "investing with me, not against me ".
- The 'Horgiana', 'comfortable shoes'; a name that is a direct game on the brand Havaianas.
- The 'TLC' or 'Two Level Car', an idea he presented to Richard Branson at the opening of Virgin Active gym in Sydney, which, surprisingly, was not completely rejected by Richard.
- The 'Choc Nut', based on Horgs belief that if you fill the inside of a bean with chocolate, most chocolate will not be metabolized and therefore you will not gain weight.
- 'Gym Train', where regular commuter trains will have a modified car into a fitness center for passengers to work out on the way to work.
- The 'See Through Toaster', meant to alleviate the burning toast problem. This should be made entirely of glass, with heat transmitted from the bottom of the toaster and 'bouncing' around the toaster against the glass surface.
- 'Poo Tracker', based on Horg's belief that bowel movements are an effective way to lose weight. It will be installed in a toilet bowl to measure the mass of the unconscious stool, allowing a person to measure how much weight he lost due to his bowel movements.
- The 'Mint Lamb', based on Horgs belief that sheep who eat only mint naturally will feel the mint when eaten as lamb, thus saving the cost and time of the printing process by consumers.
- The 'Fingerater', which is meant to solve the problem of sustaining injuries on a person's fingers when grated foods like cheese in a traditional hand-held grater. This discovery is that such a person can wear a mini fiddle on his ten fingers and 'massage' the cheese, so lattice it all so that nothing is wasted.
- The '13 (one-three) Decide ', which is a text messaging service, where customers can send text messages when they have difficulty in making decisions about any aspect of life no matter how trivial (eg what to eat for lunch ), and Horgs will make a decision for them.
- The "Toilet Teasers", where the brain teasers are printed on toilet rolls for reading and entertainment when someone uses the toilet. The answer to the teaser will be printed further under the toilet roll.
- The song 'I Hate Monday', an idea that Horgs admit is not original but has not been done for '20 years', he said. This is the only discovery so far to take off and actually reaches the second week, where Horgs' announces the complete lyrics for the song, and on the same day when interviewing Harry Connick, Jr., he actually did an improvised version of the song. On Friday, 19 March 2010, it was announced that over the weekend Hamish & Andy will really put together singers together to bring the song. It is planned to have 25 singers on the verses and 100 on the chorus section (one of which is Horgs himself). On July 16, 2010, the song was released on iTunes Store Australia for $ 1.69 AUD.
At the show, Horgs' famous for often using his slogan, '(Enter product) has been well done for many years'. Another joke that runs is that most of his 'unique' ideas have actually been found, mostly in the Japanese market.
Jazz Chat
After changing from daily to weekly, Hamish & amp; Andy created the Jazz Chat segment to provide quick point topics in the last 3 minutes of the event to cover the lack of time they have on the new show. Roger Clark Quartet played background jazz music directly during the segment on March 11, 2011 show.
The Subway Song/Musical Eavesdropping
Started in 2011 during their time in America and now repeatedly, Hamish & Andy conveyed a funny conversation they heard somewhere (originally on the subway, hence the name) word for word in song. The Jack Post is the narrator during that segment.
Hamish & amp; Andy Business Brunch (2013)
Hamish and Andy return to daily radio in early 2013 with a new show, originally called "Business Brunch", aired from 9 Ã, to 10 Ã, am Tuesday to Friday (except in Sydney, where it will air from 10 Ã, to 11 Ã, , following The Kyle & Jackie O Show). This completes their regular driving time event that has moved to Monday. Rather than having a recurring segment every day, it aims to cover every topic in the world, focusing on one topic per show. Listeners are invited to contribute their expertise on various topics through their website, rather than through traditional radio-in-phone methods. This allows the show to be recorded first when necessary to facilitate the filming for Year Gap . During each episode, Hamish and Andy read and respond to the listener's contribution, called in the air as "Company Man" or "Mistress of the Company". Sometimes, the couple is called a listener with an interesting or funny contribution to share more. This format is based on a series of "Boardroom" podcasts recorded in 2012. The new Nine Network News actor Peter Harvey gave a preliminary voice, even after his death (as he and his family wanted).
Key activities
Mug Business Brunch
As a reward for listeners who make outstanding contributions to this event, Hamish & amp; Andy orders 50 cups of coffee with the Business Brunch logo on it. "Mug God" (the character voiced by Hamish) has the final decision about who receives the coveted mug. A series of "Mug Commands" was developed by God Mug, mostly to prevent people who openly ask for a cup to be eligible to receive one. Some listeners try to catch Hamish & amp; Andy gave them a mug, while many were awarded as gifts for games developed by Hamish & Andy. One such game generates a caller who receives a mug to correctly guess that plot of Babysitter's Club plot, where two of the girls are confronted with werewolves so they have to chase the time portals into Roman times, with only M16 weapons, is, in fact, created by Hamish. Another game is more difficult. Delivery of a much larger Business Brunch pencil is also booked, for a lower but still important contribution. If his contribution does not guarantee a whole pencil, there may be a broken into two and sent out. A special pencil-based award - 'the puncil of honor' - is given to contributors who send funny word games. In the final episode of Business Brunch on 21 June 2013, "The Promotion", the remaining mugs were donated to the National Film and Sound Archive in Canberra as part of radio history.
Hamish & amp; Andy Happy Hour (2013-2014)
The couple announced on 21 June 2013 showing that they have been "promoted" to the initial drive slot from 3 pm to 4 pm weekdays. The show changed its name to "Happy Hour" and continues the purpose of discussing every topic in the world. Move to this slot hinted at hiatus from their weekly 4-6pm drive event. They briefly return to the drive slot for two weeks in July 2014 to fill in for the current host drive Dan & amp; Maz during the radio survey break.
Some of the old drivetime segments sometimes appear on Happy Hour, when Hamish & amp; Andy went "off topic". For example, Jazz Chat continues to hold performances every Friday, regardless of the main topic of the day. Listeners who contribute to the event via email or phone are now referred to as "Happy Chappy" or "Happy Lassie".
Key activities
Gold Watches
The Happy Hour Gold Colored Watch replaced the Business Brunch Mug as a reward for outstanding contributions to the show. 100 watches were ordered, and the first few were looted by Hamish, Andy and their team. In addition to being issued as a reward for a challenge (or blackmail), there are 19 secret ways to get a watch. This includes licensing animated characters that you design for Hours of Hour , or being a newborn son of Hamish. Receiving watches is considered rare, but in a highly unlikely situation that a single listener receives three Gold Hands Hands, they will receive Happy Hour Sombrero, the official cap of Hours of Happiness . As of May 2014, a total of 20 watches and zero sombrero have been published.
A series of 1000 Happy Hour Coasters are also booked, and these are awarded as entertainment prizes for contributions that are not quite worth watching.
In the June 2, 2014 edition of the Hourly Clock, it was revealed that gold-colored watches had been placed on the eBay auction site by the recipient, a listener named James. Hamish & amp; Andy is not happy with this, as it is impossible to assign values ââto that invaluable object. To prevent existing watch owners from buying extra hours and getting closer to Happy Hour sombrero, Hamish & amp; Andy offered to pay James $ 300 cash to buy back the clock. The watch is considered to be damned and blown up (on a cart full of watermelons) using explosives. The attempt to record this show in a super-slow motion (thereby justifying the watermelon) is unclear. Regardless of this, most of the intact hours were discovered by an event listener sometime later, at the site of the explosion. Hamish & amp; Andy then speculates that the curse can be broken by cutting the watch into sections and separating them forever (in a possible metaphor to the Horcrux of the Harry Potter series ). These pieces are then sent to the listener considered to be quite 'remote', to prevent watching, and therefore the curse, from ever being reassembled.
Brent the Mixmaster
First featured on April 23rd, 2013 edition of Business Brunch that addresses Recipes, Brent Man Company, Mixmaster contacts Hamish & amp; Andy with his own recipe for "Drink X": a soft drink that combines one part Vanilla Coke, one part Schweppes Brown Creaming Soda and one part Kirk's Pink Creaming Soda. The drink sample was created by Hamish, and was greeted with a warm welcome. Brent recipes, usually combining existing food to "make the world a more delicious place", continue to be regularly displayed on the Hourly Clock and he was awarded with a golden watch for his contribution to the show.
- July 9, 2013: Chocolate - Brent sends recipes for a better version of Kellogg's Coco Pops, with additional Big M-brown milk and mild dust with Milo teaspoons.
- August 26, 2013: Burger - Hamish & amp; Andy calls Brent to ask if he has a burger discovery. She was invited to the studio to explain and test her recipe for "Sauce X": a combination of sweet and sour sauce available at KFC, McDonald's and Red Rooster.
- September 6, 2013: Voting - Prime Minister Kevin Rudd brings recipes to the main cinema for assessment by Brent: popcorn and Maltes mixed into vanilla ice cream.
- October 18, 2013: Parma Brent - Hamish & amp; Andy dedicates all the Happy Hours to travel to the address given to them by Brent (who turns out to be an Indian restaurant) to taste his recipe for a new twist on chicken parmigiana, "Parma X": chicken schnitzel with butter chicken sauce which is wrapped in garlic naan bread and cheese (mixed before baking).
- November 27, 2013: Dream Week Wednesday - Brent explains the ingredients of "Drink Xmas" which he agreed to at the end of the show year to be held at Wet'n'Wild Sydney: a mixture of ice, a can of Passito soft drink, a can of Red Bull energy drink and a friendly Cottee and raspberry apple.
- June 26, 2014: Combined Challenge - A man named Timbo challenges Brent with a mixture centered around chocolate candy. Timbo makes chocolate with two layers of internal banana; Brent created a Milky Way perforated with yogan chocolate served with raspberries. Brent wins after Hamish and Andy do a blind test.
Tyreright Book of Records
At the end of 2013, Hamish & amp; Andy launched his own world record notebook to rival the Guinness Book of World Records. The difference with this book is that you do not need anyone to clarify or check your notes, you just need to be the first person to post it on Hamish & Andy's website. Labeling "XXXX Book of Records", Hamish & amp; Andy is open to sponsors (alcohol or other) to buy naming rights to books. A Tyreright franchise holder from Brisbane paid $ 1,200 (to cover the cost of a canoe to access the People's Island) in early 2014 and thus the book was renamed to reflect his new sponsorship.
Business Signature Timomatis
In 2014, Hamish starts selling Timomatic signatures on the hamishandandy.com event website and promotes the business at Hamish & Andy's show. Hamish states that the signature sold has not been personally written by Timomatic, but it is indeed a Timomatic signature (same form and style). A single signature starts with a $ 10 sale price, but prices go through various stages of 'sales' and 'special promotions'. Hamish considers that although his business is a forgery, he is on the 'wide open', because it is a 'homage' for Timomatic. Before Happy Hour ends in 2014, Hamish and Andy have Timomatic as guests on the show. After testing that Timomatic quite reproduces its own signature reproduction (though it is not), Hamish hands over his business to Timomatic, enabling him to sell his own signature legally.
Radio Announcer
On July 25 (2013), the day's topic is Survivor , which among other topics, includes a popular reality game show of the same name. Hamish and Andy chose to play the Survivor game for a 15 minute radio segment with their show callers. The "challenge" is just an arbitrary question (such as "What is your name?" And "what is your job?"). After the challenge, contestants can strategize for the upcoming Tribal Council election with others but only for 10 seconds. In the tribal council each contestant will say they vote, with the other detained to make sure the voice is personal. 5 contestants for this game Josh, Laura, Steph, Nick, Mathew. The game produces Nick's chosen by the jury to become the top winner of Mathew. Then in November, Josh (chosen for "vote counting error") returned to Radio Announcer for the All-Stars Radio Announcer with an Australian-preferred celebrity, where he won.
Regular segment
Hamish Hit It Open Width
Hamish finds cover, lies, half/third/quarter truth, scam, cyber troll, bad apple/orange/pear, misunderstanding, etc., and "wide blow". Famous, Hamish will be put off by adding to the list of things he opened wide. Andy claims this because of all the "wide blows" - insignificant people. Hamish often describes how he was covered with snow with all the cases he sent; he persuades the listener that if they have injustice/scandal/crackpots/forgers (unless they do signature, in this case it can be considered 'homage')/etc in order for him to explode, they must keep sending them in. Hamish hunt down small thieves/despots/quarter-truths/etc. down using 'eagle's truth', which shines laser justice on the relevant scams/scandals/frauds/cronies/etc. The eagle of truth has its own theme song, played on episode 25 August 2014, which Andy thinks is horrible. Episode 6 November 2015 is really dedicated to blowing things open wide, allowing Hamish to work through some backlog of his case.
Friends Galore
The Post gives Hamish and Andy the names of two people/organizations/brands/television shows/similar objects, and they have to decide who has more friends on Facebook. If they do not guess at least two of the three pairs correctly, they must send a Happy Clock Coaster to the event nemesis, Tony Barber (who stood them for a songwriting session in late 2013). After realizing that if they lose six times, Barber will have a full set of 6 coasters, Hamish & Andy decided the game might retire after they lost 5 times. On August 11, 2014 the iPhone Friends Galore app was released to the Apple App Store by fans.
Which Star Do You Think?
Hamish and Andy each picked out male and female celebrities, and then summoned someone randomly to ask which celebrities they thought was similar. Should the name of the caller be one of the celebrities chosen by Hamish or Andy, anyone named celebrity who is declared the winner. The loser should get the celebrity on the show before the end of the year.
Wind of Glory
The segment in which Hamish and Andy talk to a listener who has 'let it tear' in a place or situation worthy of note.
Am I Naked?
The segment where Hamish and Andy talked to an audience and guessed whether the listener was naked or not.
Polish your Anecdot
A listener tells a story from their life that has a good start but a common end. Other listeners then offer false but more stimulating conclusions on genuine anecdotes. The story owners then choose their new favorite ending and agree to change the story to include a new ending and tell it as fact from now on.
The Hamish & amp; Andy Drive Show (2015-2017)
The couple announced on October 29, 2014 that the event will return to the national drive slot (4 - 7) on the Hit Network. They also publish a podcast which is a concise version of their daily event, except for advertisements and songs. On December 2, 2016, the couple announced 2017 will be their last year in the air. Since the return of the couple, their ratings have slowed mainly due to bad network breakfast events in Sydney and Brisbane markets. With their main competitor being a Sydney-based event formed from a Brisbane breakfast, Hamish and Andy need a strong breakfast offering from Hit Network to reclaim the listener as they resume the drive slot. However, the pair has always had a good ranking in the Melbourne market, usually winning rankings and leading above their Sydney-based rivals.
Key activities
Party Launch
The slowing race of The Nation
In 2015, Hamish & amp; Andy ran a horse-coat race in the state city of Wedderburn, Victoria, on Monday before the Melbourne Cup. The premise of the race is to slow the nation safely in preparation for "The race that stops the nation"; Melbourne Cup. The race was originally designed to include horses, but as more and more people began to write to the show, asked if they could enter the race with horse clothes, Hamish & Andy, then changing the rules to become a racetrack just racing, including single and double racer equipped.

Layla's Loot Chute
One of the most eagerly awaited segments in recent memories, Hamish designed, and made for him, the bottom of the chicken suit. If a perfectly made chicken suit is not enough, no one loses on Layla's Loot Chute, contestants (one per week) can win beer or money. Contestants choose numbers between one and six, which correlate with the plastic eggs placed in the Layla channel. The money grows $ 1,000 every week if the selected egg contestants give them beer.
