Diversey, Inc. is a provider of hygiene and hygiene products - serving customers in hospitality, food, beverage, foodservice, retail and management facilities. It integrates chemicals, floor-care machines, tools and equipment, with a range of value-added technology-based services, food safety services and water and energy management.
Previously JohnsonDiversey, Inc., Diversey is a Sealed Air Corporation, under the Diversey Care Division, until it was acquired by Bain Capital in September 2017. Diversey is now a stand-alone company that includes the Diversey Care division and the food hygiene solutions business that is part of the division Closed Air Food Treatment.

History
Diversey Corporation was founded in Chicago in 1923. In 1978, the company was acquired by Molson. In 1996 it was obtained from Molson by Unilever, which combined it with its professional cleaning arm to form DiverseyLever. Johnson Wax Professional acquired the company from Unilever in 2002, and came to be known as JohnsonDiversey, Inc. Johnson Wax Professional is a subsidiary of S.C Johnson & amp; Child until 1999, when it spins. In November 2009, Clayton, Dubilier & amp; Rice earns 46 percent of Diversey, Inc.
In February 2010, Curt Johnson resigned as head of Diversey, Inc. following allegations of repeated sexual assaults on a child. In March 2010, the name was changed again to Diversey, Inc., with a new slogan, "for a cleaner and healthier future."
In June 2011, Sealed Air announced that they purchased Diversey Holdings for $ 4.3 billion (9.5x 2010 Adj. EBITDA of $ 452mm), and the deal was completed in October of that year. Diversey President and CEO Edward Lonergan continues to lead Diversey after the acquisition of Sealed Air. The Carlyle Group purchased Diversey G.K., "Diversey Japan" (indirect subsidiary of Diversey, Inc.) in November 2012.
Riley Construction named Diversey's headquarters as a LEED-Gold Certified green building.
During the time under Sealed Air, Diversey Care focuses on technology innovation strategies. These include the launch of the first global range of commercial cleaning robots in the US and Europe, and a digital food safety management platform that helps organizations achieve regulatory compliance in the food industry.
In March 2017, Bain Capital announced that it purchased Diversey Care from Sealed Air for $ 3.2 billion, with the goal of running Diversey as a stand-alone company. In August 2017, Dr. Ilham Kadri was named President & amp; CEO of the new Diversey business, and sales completed in September 2017.
