Dawn is a dishwashing liquid brand owned by Procter & amp; Gamble. Introduced in 1973, this is the best selling brand of dishwashing liquid in the United States. In addition to being used for dishwashing purposes, Dawn products are also used to remove fats from other items, such as animal fats spilled onto the highway, and animal oils, such as during Exxon Valdez and Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Wildlife savings
Procter & amp; Gamble has donated thousands of detergent bottles to clean the wildlife and has run ads promoting Dawn as the best product to use when cleaning animals that have been exposed to oil spills. The International Bird Rescue examines some cleaning agents, searches for one that will "least traumatize" and settle in 10% of the Fajar solution. The choices are the basis for Dawn's goodwill marketing and campaigns, including advertising and promotional contributions related to sales. Critics say that fighting oil spills with petroleum-based Dawn boosts demand for oil.

Outside the United States
From 2000 to 2002, Dawn was sold in Germany, replacing the international Fairy brand. After sales declined sharply due to foreign brands, the Fairy brand was revived in 2002.
