History
The Big Green Egg is often referred to as kamado because of its basic design origins located in southern Japan.
The word "mushikamado" means "steam cooker" (from "mushi" meaning "for steam", and "kamado" meaning "stove, oven or stove") Mushikamado is a tool designed to steam rice and used by Japanese families for ceremonial events and take the form of a round clay pot with a removable vaulted clay cap. It displays a push-up door up and down the draft. Mushikamado first became the attention of Americans after World War II when US Air Force warriors will bring them back from Japan in empty freight plane. In the late 1960s, manufacturing began in America.
The Big Green Egg Company was founded in 1974 by Ed Fisher and is based in Tucker, Georgia in the United States. Big Egg Egg production takes place in Monterrey, Mexico, by Daltile company.

Design
The Big Green Egg shape is designed to withstand heat by using two thrust doors, one below and the other at the top. Push down the sliding door horizontally creates more or fewer airflow. It works along with the top draft door, which rotates left and right, creating more or less updraft, and in turn adjusting the temperature used on the cook. Big Green Egg today is made from ceramics designed to reflect heat and this allows temperatures of up to 650 ° C (1.202 ° F) to be reached.
The Big Green Egg is a charcoal barbecue: manufacturers recommend charcoal wood charcoal because alternatives such as charcoal briquettes contain many additives that can contaminate the taste of food.
Large Green Eggs can be used for smoking or grilling and with additional accessories can bake bread or cook pizza. Big Green Eggs are produced in seven sizes with the largest being able to cook 35-40 burgers, 14-16 whole chicken, 18-20 steak, 20 rib rack, or 1 breastfeeding pig.
