History
Origins
It is generally accepted that Agra is an ancient city of the Mahabharata period (see above) and yet Sultan Sikandar Lod?, The Muslim ruler of the Sultanate of Delhi, founded Agra in 1504. After the death of the Sultan, the city was passed on to his son, h? m Lod?. He ruled his Sultanate from Agra until he fell into battle to the Mughal Badshah B bar in Panipat's first battle in 1526.
Mughal Era
The golden age of the city begins with the Mughal. It was known then as Akbarab? D and remains the capital of the Mughal Empire under the Badshahs Akbar, Jah? Ng? R and Sh? H Jah? N. Akbar made it an eponymous place of one of its original twelve subtests (imperial upper provinces), bordering (Old) Delhi, Awadh (Oudh), Allahabad, Malwa and Ajmer subahs. Sh? H Jah? N then shifted his capital to Sharif in 1649.
Because Akbarab? D is one of the most important cities in India under Mughal, he witnessed many development activities. Babar, the founder of the Mughal dynasty, placed the first official Persian garden on the banks of the Yamuna. The park is called Ar? M B? Gh or Relaxation Park. His granddaughter Akbar the Great raised the towering fortress of Great Red Fort, in addition to making Agra a center for learning, art, commerce and religion. Akbar also build a new city on the outskirts of Akbarab? D called Fatehp? R Sikr ?. The city was built in the form of Mughal military camp in stone.
His son, Jah? Ng? R has a love of flora and fauna and puts many gardens inside the Red Fort or L 'l Qil'a. Sh? H Jah? N, known for his interest in architecture, gave Akbarab? His most precious monument, T? J Mahal. Built in the loving memory of his wife, Mumt? M Mahal, the tomb was completed in 1653.
Sh? H Jah? N then moved the capital to Delhi during his reign, but his son Aurangzeb moved the capital back to Akbarab, captured his father and imprisoned him at the Citadel there. Akbarab d remained the capital of India during the reign of Aurangzeb until he transferred him to Aurangabad in Deccan in 1653.
Next period
After the decline of the Mughal Empire, the city was under the influence of Marathas and called Agra, before falling into the hands of Raj Britain in 1803.
In 1835 when the Agra Presidency was founded by the British, the city became the seat of government, and only two years later, it witnessed Agra's famine from 1837 to 1938. During the Indian uprising of 1857 British rule across India was threatened, the rebellion had reached Agra on May 11 and on May 30 two indigenous infantry companies, the 44th and 67th regiments, rebelled and marched to Delhi. The next morning Indian natives in Agra were forced to disarm, on June 15 Gwalior (south of Agra) rebelled. On July 3, the British were forced to retreat into the fortress. Two days later the small British troops at Sucheta were defeated and forced backwards, causing the crowd to fire the city. However, the rebels moved to Delhi allowing Britain to restore order on 8 July. Delhi fell to British hands in September, the following month the rebels who had fled Delhi with the rebels from Central India marched in Agra but lost. After the British rule was re-secured over the city until India's independence in 1947.

T? j Expensive

Done in 1653, T? J Mahal was built by the Mughal king Shah Jahan as the final resting place for his beloved wife, Mumt? Z Mahal. Finished in marble, perhaps it is the most beautiful Indian monument and is situated in the middle of landscaped gardens. Built by the Persian architect, Ust? D '? S ?, T? J Mahal is on the south bank of the Yamuna River. It can be observed from Agra Fort from where Emperor Sh? H Jah? N stared at him for the last eight years of his life, a prisoner of his son Aurangzeb. The verses of the Qur'an written on it and at the top of the gate are twenty-two small domes, signaling the number of years it takes to build a monument. T? A Mahal is built on a marble platform that stands on a sandstone. The most elegant dome of T? J Mahal has a diameter of 60 feet (18 m), and rises to a height of 80 feet (24 m); just below this dome is Mumt's tomb? z Expensive. The tomb of Shah Jah? N was founded next to him by his son, Aurangzeb. The interior is decorated with fine inlay work, incorporating semi-precious stones.
Fort Agra
Agra Fort (sometimes called Red Fortress), commissioned by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565, and is one of the World Heritage Sites of Agra. A stone tablet at the gate of the Citadel declared that it had been built before 1000 but was later renovated by Akbar. Red sandstone fortress converted into a palace during the time of Sh? H Jah? N, and reworked extensively with marble and pietra dura inlay. Famous buildings in the castle include the Pearl Mosque or Mot? Mosque , D? W? Ne - '? M and D? W? Ne-Kh? S (public spaces and private audiences), Jah's Palace? Ng, Palace, Kh? S Expensive, Sh? Sh Mahal (mirrored palace), and Musamman Burj.
The creepy exterior of this castle conceals an inner heaven. The fort was a crescent-shaped, flattened to the east with a long, almost straight wall facing the river. It has a total perimeter of 2.4 kilometers (1.5 mi), and is surrounded by a double-row castle of red sandstone interspersed periodically by bastions. A trench width of 9 meters (30 feet) and 10 meters (33 feet) surrounds the outer wall.
Chhatrapati Sh? Vaj? visit the Agra Fort, as a result of the conditions of the Purandar Treaty with Mirz? R? J? Jaisingh to meet Aurangzeb in D? W? N-i-Kh? S (Audience Special Room). In the audience he was deliberately placed behind a lower-ranking man. Shari vaj being insulted? rushed out of the imperial audience and confined to the residence of Jai Sing on May 12, 1666. Fear of the dungeon and the execution he escaped on 17 August 1666.
