AERO Specialties, Inc. is a new and updated international manufacturer and distributor of ground support equipment (PGE). AERO Specialties was founded in 1987 by President Matt Sheehan to supply GSE products to corporate customers, fixed-base (FBO), commercial, military, and global aviation operators. AERO Specialties manufactures diesel-electric hybrid ground power units (GPU), toilets, drinking water, cleaning and oxygen/nitrogen servicing carts, as well as aircraft and head towbars. AERO Specialties is the authorized US distributor for Eagle Tugs, Tug Technologies, TLD, Unitron, Clyde Machines, Powervamp, and Stinar.
AERO Specialties has experienced significant international growth due to the expansion of its CE-marked product line for the European Economic Area, introduced in 2006. Exclusive international distribution agreements with various international companies have contributed to the enhancement of the global distribution network for AERO Specialties. It is estimated that 30 to 40 percent of AERO's businesses are related to exports.
In December 2010, AERO Specialties acquired JetGo International based in Australia, a manufacturer of diesel-electric hybrid GPUs. JetGo is now manufactured and sold under the AERO brand. In 2016, AERO Specialties released a series of portable GPUs working with Powervamp, as well as being the exclusive distributor of companies in North America.
AERO Specialties provides equipment to the United States Government through the Public Service Administration under the GSA Contract Number GS-30F-0030X.

AERO Specialties provides GSE for all FBOs (Avitat, Landmark Aviation and Million Air) at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics to meet the growing air traffic demands of athletes, fans and organizers. AERO Specialties provides around 40 equipment including Eagle TT-series tackle tractor, TLD and JetGo GPU, and AERO towbar, towbar head, toilet basket and potable water.
AERO Specialties regularly provides equipment used at events organized by NBAA & amp; CBAA (Canadian Business Aviation Association).
AERO Specialties gave GSE to FBO for the First Inauguration of Barack Obama and Super Bowl 2009. AERO Specialties regularly provides equipment for sporting events such as Masters, World Series & NASCAR Racing. They have also provided equipment for big events & amp; festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival.
Appreciation
In 2016, AERO Specialties was awarded the President's "E" Award for Export. This award, presented by US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, is the highest acknowledgment acceptable to any US entity for contributing significantly to the expansion of U.S. Exports.
In 2015, Matthew Sheehan's owner was named Chairman of the World Leadership Team at the annual GSE Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. This award honors "individuals who have taken leadership roles with personnel."
AERO Specialities received the Small Business Association Trade Association of USA (SBA), a regional exporter of Northwest exporters on May 4, 2011. This award comes in addition to being recognized as an SBA exporter this year in Idaho.
On May 6, 2009, in honor of World Trade Day, AERO Specialties was awarded the US Department of Commercial Trade, Export Achievement Certificate for the latest achievements in the global market, presented by the Export Council of Idaho.
Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce awarded AERO Specialties with the award of Small Business of the Year in June 2002.
