Pressure washing or power laundering is the use of high-pressure water sprays to remove paint, mold, dust, dust, mud, gum and dirt from surfaces and objects such as buildings , vehicles and concrete surfaces. Mechanical pressure washer volume expressed in gallons or liters per minute, often designed into pumps and not variable. Pressure, expressed in pounds per square inch, pascal, or bar, is designed into the pump but can vary by adjusting the unloader valve. Machines that produce pressure from 750 to 30,000 psi (5 to 200 MPa) or more are available.
Although the terms pressure washing and power laundering are used interchangeably in many scenarios, they are actually different processes.
Pressure washer cleaning is a tool used to clean flat surfaces. This tool consists of two to four high-pressure jets on a rotating rod that rotates when water flows. This action creates a uniformed cleaning pattern that can clean flat surfaces at high speed. Pressure washer washers are used on wooden decks, terraces, driveways, sidewalks and parking lots.
Hydro-jet cleaning is a more powerful form of power laundering, which is used to remove buildup and debris in tanks and ducts.
