Disappearance of Jason Foreman
On May 18, 1975, Jason's day disappeared, Foreman playing with his older brother and three other boys. After announcing to his playmate that he was going home, he ran to the fire station located at the bottom of the hill. The path he lived in was no more than 30 meters away; However, to make it to his home, he had to pass the house where Woodmansee lived. Jason's mother, Joice Foreman, last heard her son's laughter through an open window, at about 3:30 pm. He never made it home. It was his 37th birthday.

Capture and confidence
Jason Foreman's murder was not resolved until Woodmansee was arrested in April 1982 for a different crime. He has lured a 14-year-old book writer (Sherman's nickname) to his home, and showered him with alcohol. After Woodmansee made an unsuccessful attempt to strangle him, the boy managed to come home and tell the incident to his father, who became angry, faced Woodmansee, and then hit him. Woodmansee's father saw the police leave the Sherman house, waving the officer, and complaining to the police about the attack on his son. Officers asked them both to come to the police station to discuss the incident. During an interrogation with Woodmansee about the alleged assault on the Sherman boy, the officers had a hunch that he might know something about Jason Foreman's disappearance. Slowly they directed the interrogation that way and finally Woodmansee confessed to killing Jason Foreman. He told the police that when they searched his room, they would find the journal, but everything in the journal was just fiction. When the police searched Woodmansee's room, they not only found the journal but also found Foreman's skull and several other bones in his wardrobe. The bones have been taken clean of all the meat and skinned. Woodmansee pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 1983, and was sentenced to 40 years in prison as a result of a plea bargain. The prosecutor negotiated a plea bargain to avoid the dreadful facts about the murders that were revealed during the trial.
Initial release
Woodmansee was released from prison on September 11, 2011, after serving a 28-year sentence of 40 years. The "Good Time Law" in Rhode Island allows a prisoner to get as much as 10 days of his punishment, every month, for good behavior. In the 28 years Woodmansee was imprisoned, he was able to regain 12 years under the terms. John Foreman, Jason's father, declared that he intended to kill Woodmansee after he was released.
But in May 2011, due to public uproar and the nature of crimes committed Woodmansee was ordered to be evaluated by 2 independent forensic psychiatrists who approved Woodmansee according to the criteria to be made unconsciously. Woodmansee and his legal counsel agreed to volunteer to commit to Eleanor Slater Hospital in Cranston indefinitely. SOURCE:
