Jan Showers , is an American interior designer. He is also the owner and owner of a showroom in the Dallas Design District where he curated and sold antiques purchased to buy trips to Paris, New York, London and Venice. In January 2014, Architectural Digest named Jan Showers & amp; Associated with AD100 list of design & amp; architecture company. The bathroom operates the Jan Rain Collection, a row of luxuriously furnished furniture. In 2009, Abrams Books published Glamor Rooms, a book on the perspective and ideas of Showers on interior design. Glamorous Rooms are in the 8th printing. Personal life
Jan Showers was born in Hillsboro, TX. In an interview he has discussed the influence of his mother and grandmother in the early development of style and taste. In an interview with Southern Accent he said, "My mother is very influential on my career - she has good eyes and good taste, she keeps telling me, 'Fight for perfection, important details.' He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Texas Christian University in 1963. Businessmen married James Andrew Showers, a lawyer, in 1961 with whom he had two daughters, Susanna Showers Moldawer and Elizabeth Tolbert Showers Elizabeth were designers jewelry based in Dallas and Susanna a writer, stylist and mother of three. Bathrooms and her husband split their time between the country house and Dallas, TX.

Interior Design
Rain showed her skill as, throughout the 1960s, she took a small job designing a home for friends and relatives. In 1977, he inaugurated his first business identity incarnation with Jan Showers Interiors, which was changed to Jan Showers & amp; Associates in 1996.
Rain has graced homes in the United States and Canada, including projects in Palm Beach, Aspen, San Francisco, Nantucket and Toronto.
Rain has been mentioned as the inspiration of decorators Billy Baldwin, Francis Elkins and David Hicks. For the Southern Accent he described Billy Baldwin as such: "He embodies a simple glamor, a glamorous-like beautiful harassment.I love the living room he did for Mary Wells Lawrence at La Fiorentina in southern France-blue-and-blue woven French sofa- and the white carpet will always be in my memory. Named as one of the top designers by House Beautiful and Western Interiors, Ms. Showers also won the Lifetime Achievement Award in Interior Design from Fashion Group International in 2008.
He has been honored by Andrew Martin Interior Design Award twice, in 2004 and 2005.
Showcase
In 1994, Rain partnered with clients to open Out of Africa, its first retail store. The shop, located in Dallas, features African art blended with traditional furnishings.
The bathroom opens its own boutique and showroom in the Dallas Design District, which is more than double the size over the next 10 years. Famous for mixing 18th and 19th century designs with mid-20th century pieces, Rain curtains and sells furniture and design accessories from various locales purchased. The contents of the showroom were acquired by Showers on a semi-annual purchase trip to Paris, Venice, London, and New York City. Architectural Digest displays its showroom, saying, "In every sketch there is at least one mirror........ It's cool and has the same luxuries as movies of the 1940s."
Furniture Collection
Unable to consistently find the type of furniture that she and her clients want, the Bathroom established a collection of furniture in 1999. In 2 years, she was represented by 7 showrooms throughout the United States. The current collection is displayed in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Dania. The Jan Rain Rain Collection consists of over 150 pieces, including various furnishings as well as Murano glass lighting. Veranda says, "This collection reflects the designer's closeness to Neoclassicism and medieval modern design."
Additional Design Works
In 2005, Jan Rain was asked to design a limited edition collection of seven different glass accessories, signed and numbered for Neiman Marcus. They are manufactured in Murano, Italy.
Shower designed a special cow leather carpet collection for Kyle Bunting in 2010. And in 2014, the Bathroom designed a ceramic lighting collection in collaboration with Ceramist Paul Schneider, as well as a collection of Oushak carpets for Moattar, Ltd.

Publish
In 2009, Abrams Books published Glamour Rooms, a photography-centered book featuring Showers design projects and emphasized its attention to detail, and blending Hollywood high-end trademarks, medieval modernism, and classic works from the 18th and 19th centuries. American fashion designer Michael Kors has written the introduction to this book. Kors said, "What impresses Jan is not what looks hot at this moment, but what will look great years from now.I find this focus on helplessness is also entirely visible in the rooms he created. they will still look remarkable decades from now talking to real success as a designer. "
Abrams publishes his second book, Glamor Retreats, in fall 2013, which will feature vacation homes/both from Palm Beach, Nantucket, Vail, Telluride, Malibu and Toronto, as well as many other places.
Philanthropy
Rain is functioning at the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Art Museum. In 2009, Rain led Two X Two with his daughter, Elizabeth Showers, a profitable Amphar gala and the Dallas Art Museum. He also served on the board of The Elisa Project, an organization dedicated to promoting a healthy body image.
