The Hillside Strangler , then Hillside Stranglers , is a media epitet for one, then two American serial killers who terrorized Los Angeles between October 1977 and February 1978, with a nickname derived from fact that many bodies of victims are found on the sides of the Hollywood Hills. The police, however, knew because of the body position that was massacred by two people, but held back this information from the press. The two men found were Kenneth Bianchi and Angelo Buono's cousins, who were later convicted of kidnapping, rape, torture and murder of ten women, ranging in age from 12 to 28.
The Hillside Strangler assassination began with the deaths of three sex workers who were found strangled and thrown naked on the hillside of northeastern Los Angeles between October and early November 1977, but not until the deaths of five young women who were not sex workers but girls who had been abducted from middle-class neighborhood, that media attention and subsequently "Hillside Strangler" became a moniker. Buono died of a heart attack on September 21, 2002, at California State Prison in California, where he served a life sentence.
Veronica Compton
In 1980, Bianchi started a relationship with Veronica Compton. During the trial, he testified for the defense. He was later convicted and imprisoned for trying to strangle a woman he had lured into a motel in an attempt to have the authority to believe that Hillside Strangler is still on the run and the wrong person is imprisoned. Bianchi had given him smuggled semen to use to look like a rape/murder committed by Hillside Strangler. He was released in 2003.
